valhallax - It does take an effort but, I found a young man who has a truck with a tommy lift. He moves and sets up arcade games for a living and he is all set up to handle things of this size. I negotiated a fee for moving the 210s and assisting with all other equipment moving. I usually help him with load in and load out but, this trip, but he pulled up to my garage and before I even knew he was there, in less than 10 minutes, he had both of them loaded at ready to go. At my age and with my back, its really the only way to go.

This is the issue that has been brought up on many threads here - the ease of installation vs. sound quality. It really boils down to an economics concern for large traveling pro sound units. LA set ups can push so many more SPL for the weight and size than these traditional horns, but quality is the tradeoff. Good to see you working to swing the pendulum the other way!

Oh btw, as a follow up to this post. I got the job this year as well. Took the big boys out once again. Still dropping jaws all over the county. This year my band got the job to play the show as well, so I got to play through my own rig. You can check out my band at the link below.

hi Ed, i love to hear first person experience. i really like your 210 setup. it really makes A7s as living room speakers make more sense. the only problem is, now i have to hear the 210s myself. in my case i'll probobly end up building a pair.
i listened to some y'alls samples over my "little" altecs at home and tried to imagine being at the rwb.

Trust me, once you've had corner loaded 210s in the home, A7s seem like tinny bookshelf speakers. Much better yet, step up and build the horns properly and use an appropriately efficient sub system as Steve Mac [Steve Maciulewicz] did and be in a ‘class of 1’

i'll need a bigger house. or i just need to go into business for myself so i can rent a warehouse.

i've already began to see the limtations of my a7 set. i havent pushed them super hard yet though.
i'm still trying to find time to build the cabs for the 411s. i have a couple questians about the mltl drawings you sent me.
